Things that contain modem in general are not supported on third party firmware because of the lack of drivers from the manufacture. You would need the exact model number to look it up on the compatible lists. Thomson devices tend to not be supported because the manufacture does not provide the necessary information to be able to build firmware. That means I need to switch my router to a new one, Does flashing a custom firmware have any security issues? I often do online shopping through this connection.
Thank you very much for your effort for helping me.
There's a new firmware that was released not too long ago, which might help those TG585v7 owners which had the same problem as me with their modem randomly rebooting. I got my hands on the 8.2.4.4 firmware for the modem and I've been up for about 3 weeks now, no reboots. Thought I'd offer it for TS peeps having issues with their 585v7 modems. If you want it, slide me a PM through the forums, and ill upload the upgrade kit on a site. Note that upgrading the firmware requires a basic understanding of networking. » Download the file there. Precautions: 1- Make sure you have only one computer on the router for the upgrade process, set to a static IP, not by DHCP (The router's DHCP server doesn't work once the modem reboots into Firmware Upgrade mode).
I myself set my computer on 192.168.1.100. 2- Make sure the router password is not too long. Mine was 20 character long and for some reason, the Upgrade assistant didn't work.
I reset it to a 8 char long password and it instantly worked. How to install: 1- Extract the contents of the.zip file. Start the upgradeST.exe program (with administrative rights, if you use Windows Vista/7).
2- It will look for your router, and ask for a password. You should know your password 3- Once done, click on the 'Have disk' button, and select the.bin firmware file file also provided in the.zip file.
It will tell you that it's the 8.2.4.4 universal firmware for the TG585v7 on the CANT-P mainboard, which if you don't have the german version of the router, you should be fine. 4- Click on next, and cross fingers.
The router will reboot 2-3 times, and you'll notice the power light will turn red and flash sporadically, that's a good sign. Let the process run through and don't let your computer fall into sleep mode (The whole process takes 10-15mins). Once done, the router will be back online with the default password.
You gotta set it back in Bridge mode, and etc. Thanks for the updated firmware. I use primus internet here in the Torono area.
The modem would loose connection quite a bit. I'll update this post with my experience with it in a week. Before I had this update I was using a firmware from Austria of all places (v8.2.3.x). Before that I was using the factory version provided by primus. Both had problems. Where do you get your firmwares from?
I assume you're more experienced with this modem than I am. So are there any CLI commands (telnet) you've used on this router? Said by samz: Thanks for the updated firmware. I just searched for a clean two weeks for an answer to the problem, until I did actually find it!
Thomson - TG585 v7 (Thomson Firmware) Port Forwarding Guide For automatic port forwarding try Step 1. This router/modem forwards based on computer name and not ip address. So there is no need to set a static ip. Some routers & modems work best with port forwarding if you have a static local IP. Manually set your network interface card ( NIC ) to use a static ip address. You can also download my FREE tool to set it for you. Open your favorite web browser and input your routers ip address in the address bar.
Jal band aadat album mp3 download. Please note that you must have the in order to connect to your router/modem properly. Need help finding you router IP address? Once logged into your router click on the 'Toolbox' tab on the left. Under 'Toolbox' click 'Game & Application Sharing'. Once the page is done loading click on 'Create a new game or application'. For Name, give the new rule a name.
Choose 'Manual Entry of Port Maps and then click 'Next'. For 'Protocol' Choose 'TCP' or 'UDP' depending on which you need to use. For 'Port Range' enter the ports to be forwarded.
Example: 2100 to 2200 or 3000 to 3000 Click 'Add'. Repeat this step for all ports. Once you have entered all the ports for this entry click 'Assign a game or application to a local network device'.
In the 'Game or Application' list, choose the name of the new rule you created. For 'Device' you can either choose the computer name to forward to, or choose 'User-Defined' to manually enter a IP address. If you choose 'User-Defined' a new text box will show up, enter the local IP to forward to here. Once you are all done click 'Add' All done!
Hi, I have this thomson modem that a friend gave me to test on my things but I can't configure it since I need the username and the password of the administrator not the user ones (username:user pass:user). Do you know how can I know or remove the logins of the modem? I tried resetting it from the back of the modem but it didn't remove the username/password request and I created a topic here Thats because you have a router from Ogero.
I talked about it: Users who got their routers from Ogero need a username and password with adminstrator privileges during the setup ('user' and 'user' doesn't work since it gives lanadmin privileges). Try chosen2k 's post in this link to get adminstrator privileges username and password. Other than chosen2k's post, I don't have another solution to get the adminstrator privileges. @geekevo this username and password is not for Ogero router, its default for routers from IDM and others but not ogero. Ogero routers default username and password are 'user' and 'user' but they give you lanadmin privileges (ie many options disabled including telnet, hardware reset and firmware upgrade).
You don't need the username and password of the real administrator account to do the update following this method. This is a dangerous way of doing this!
How To Install Firmware
Do it at your own risk, it worked for me with my TG585V7 on 7.4.4.7. What you need: 1)Firmware:8.2.6.5 generic (region free) / 2)Software:tftpd32 v3.00 / 3)Ethernet Cable(Comes with the modem) x)Your internet username and password ([email protected] and a 32 character password), you need those to set-up your connection after the update. (View Page Source If you're using chrome, and copy the value content of the password line) Steps: 1)Connect your modem to your PC through Ethernet Cable (Put the cable in port #1), turn off all other devices connecting to the modem, and remove the phone line. Turn off all security (firewall, antivirus.) during the update.
2) Rename the firmware from 'ZZ5YAA8.265.bli.7z' to 'Firmware.bin', when windows says this will change file type, click on yes. Edit: Sorry for this mistake, you should extract the 'ZZ5YAA8.265.bli' file from inside the ZZ5YAA8.265.bli.7z, then rename it to 'Firmware.bin'.
3)Extract the tftpd32.300.zip to a New Folder, then move the 'Firmware.bin' file to the same folder. 4)Right Click tftpd32.exe and select run as administrator, notice the Server interfaces drop menu. 5)Go to: Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center-Change adapter settings 6)Right Click on Local Area Connection and click on properties.
7)Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and chose Properties. 8)Select 'Use the following IP address': IP address: Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254 (What you use to access your modem settings page) Click OK and Ignore the warning. 9)Re-open tftpd32 as administrator and go to the DHCP server tab, fill in the following: IP pool starting address: 192.168.1.254 Size of pool: 1 Boot File: Firmware.bin WINS/DNS Server: 0.0.0.0 Default router: 0.0.0.0 Mask: 255.0.0.0 Leave the rest, click on save.
10)Turn off the modem (through the black button in the back), and restart the program while your modem is off. You should get 127.x.x.x in the Server Interface.
11)Get a pin, press and hold the reset button, turn the modem back on while still holding the button.(Should start the modem in bootp mode) 12)Your modem power led should be orange, and the Ethernet led blinking green. Keep holding the reset button through the transfer process shown on screen.
Firmware Update Tool
13)When the firmware is on the modem, the Ethernet led will go off, and the power led will be orange. You can release the pin now, DON'T TURN OFF THE MODEM AT THIS TIME!
14)Wait for about a minute while the firmware is replaced, and the modem will restart with the new firmware installed. The wireless led will be red because the security will be turned off. 15)Reset the changes you made in the adapter settings. Then follow Avo's topic to set-up your modem. Credits: Revs Per Min (/).
